Tin Tile Valentine Ornament

Tin tiled painted turquoise, then I added the Lady Valentine with Hearts VIC image, covered it with a red mesh and trimmed with red ric rack ribbon. I added a handmade rolled ribbon flower and fabric heart.

DIY Diaper Cake

A sweet friend from work is pregnant with her first child. I attended the baby shower this past week.

I made her a diaper cake. I love the diaper cakes, they are so very cute! There are cakes, strollers, tricycles, if you can think it you can make it.

These are fun to make!! Roll, Roll Roll and tie with ribbons, Top with bear!

On a side note....

I have been decorating a lot and unfortunately I fell off a step ladder, about 2 and 1/2 foot tall while trying to hang a curtain. I landed on my calf on the corner of the tv stand and then fell off and landed on my back onto the corner of the hearth. I went to hospital and thank goodness, no broken bones, just a lot of bruising, swelling and pain.

I thought this was pretty cool and who doesnt have some old magazines laying around the house.

This first photo I changed to color to a black and white with a green hue.

There is a ton of glitter on the little paper trees however, it was very bad lighting and you cant seem to tell how much glitter is on there.

This Friday over at Inspired Stamps several new stamp sets will be released.. So this week for our design team artwork we are all giving you a sneak peak of the new stamps sets. Using the brand new GRATITUDE set plus THANKFUL GIRL Stamp from Inspired Stamps

I made a four note-card set!

Outside of the card holder: Isn't she the cutest little thing: (THOSE EYES--awww so cute)

4 pack of note cards, pockets for book mark and note card.

I think this would make a great birthday present for a Mom or Grandma who wants to send a little note to a loved one.

Here are the two new additions to the family-- We named them: Lewis and Clark (like the explorers)

They are so sweet and we are happy to add them to our family.

Other exciting news, I got a job working on Saturdays at the library!!! Its like a dream come true. I love to read. Its just part time but I started yesterday and its so much FUN!

Take a inexpensive frame from Michaels (this one was on sale for 66 cents)

Decoupage with Tissue paper then take a piece of scrapbook paper,

a couple of die cuts and add glossy accents.

Then you have an inexpensive cute Halloween Decoration. I have another one that I am going to hang with it.

I have altered this tiny sketchbook cover with loads of beeswax covering the journal, a piece of bees wax on the corner and a darling little bee who landed on it. The adorable image is from the Shabby Blue Set from Dezinaworld (who I proudly design for).

I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Austin, my youngest son, is adjusting well to a new school and is in the 8th grade. He is studying Venn Diagrams---who? what? And I took algebra in college and repeat of that in 2007 and made an A however never heard of Venn Diagrams.

I love to crochet. My grandmother loved to crochet --she passed away when I was young though.(
I have this beautiful yarn I was saving (because I always want to save the beautiful yarn) It is called BOKU, its wool and made in beautiful colors. I crocheted this afghan I wanted it larger but I ran out of yarn!

Well It doesnt look like I smoothed it out well to take the picture so use your imagination, Its smoothly laid out and looking lovely... (Goodness, I sound a little grouchy, might be the sinus issue this am...)
OH ME!! Off to craft, be back later today with something made of paper.

I wanted to create a tag for the Gingersnaps Creations Challenge Babes and Tots.
I love the look of vintage so I decided to use a image from Dezinaworld set Transport Ephemera ....
Like a walk down memory lane...A mom and her baby with the pram/stroller/carriage.
Dont you just miss those days when your child was an infant....OH I do! (Of course there is some things I dont miss about that time)

Coffee Filter Flowers Tutorial

First step, find old school coffee filters, you know the ones that went in the pull out basket.

Like these:

Next grab a few and run them through your cuttlebug using these..( which I think are nestabilities)

(or cut some scalloped circles)

There are about 10-15 circles of coffee filters:

Next take a fastener (cheap ones, you can always add glitter to it, a sticker, some ink etc.

You can see if you just put the fastener through all the layers and fluff it that it begins to look like a flower...

Once you put the fastener through and flat on back, then began smashing petals upward...

I really did this with my left hand however I broke my thumb when I was 8 and it is a tad funny looking so I didnt want it in the picture.

Thats it, you could of course spritz them with ink or leave white. It also works with papers but you need to kinda crumble the papers first before putting the fastener on.

Thats it--super quick--fun--and turn out really cute!

. Fluff around until you get the flower you decide on...

This is one I made a bouquet of flowers for the card.

Easy Easel Card

These little easel cards are great. They use little paper and have a cute fold. The brown portion is embossed and the buttons I added some twine to the center. There is a challenge over at Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog for Try a Different Fold. This is a little freebie I got from Paper Craft Planet at MPS. Its such a sweet saying and a cute little present. I always need boys/mens cards so I thought I would do a blue and brown combo.

School Starts Tomorrow.....

Here are a few things I wanted to share with you all:
My trumpet flower bloomed tonight!!!! This plant was grown from seed that my mom gave me.

Austin is HOME as of Sunday and he starts 8th grade tomorrow.

Please say a prayer that all will go well with his transition from homeschool back to public school.

And of course a craft: I made this banner a couple of weeks or so ago.

Dream (a favorite thing of mine)

This is hanging on the door of the closet in my craft room. There are the handmade flowers on the ends of the banner, banner was cut by hand and guess what--I actually have a short tutorial how to make those coming up soon.

	A suprisingly amazing,oh my gosh, out of the ordinary expression. I got a ton of great stuff from my mystery swap partner Michelle hosted by Tee at The Altered Paper. I am having a great time with these mystery swaps. Check out Tees blog and Michelles blog. Remember we have to use 75% of the stuff in a project (lets just say that I made a tag but I could make TONS more stuff with the items she sent) I love it all but there was a little glassine envelope with vintage stamps and I just love them!!! Iron, Leather and Brass

Gingersnaps is have a Color Challenge of Iron, Leather & Brass. As part of Dezinaword DT, we were able to join in. Here is my creation, it is a card or journal topper. It was made with several different pieces of painted pieces then sewed back together, an old gent from Dezinaworld images, a tag from the recycle plastic bag ironed and painted to look all leathery, iron the tags holder and brass in corner, made of tape and colored brass.

I am on design team of Dezinaworld and this vintage image is from her Graceful Beauties set, the images always make me wonder what the lady might have doing when this photo was made and the leads to where did she live. I must find a source for old vintage lace and trims to use with all the wonderful images.

this tag was created using the paper towel (torn and crumpled) inked technique with a few added inked areas, a handmade paper envelope(I didnt make that) with a little notecard inside, topped with a green fibers.
